Dr. Ricardo Garcia is a native of San Benito, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas- Pan American Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology and then went on to attend medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, OH. He graduated with a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine and moved back to Texas to begin his residency at Texas A&M Health Science Center where he was provided full-scope training in Family Medicine.

Following completion of his residency, Dr. Garcia then pursued an additional year of fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine with Texas A&M. During his tenure as a sports medicine fellow, he was trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound and focused on treatment of athletic injuries. He also provided team coverage for Texas A&M Athletics, Blinn College Football, and several local high schools.

Dr. Garcia believes in a multi-disciplinary and evidence-based approach for all his patients. He enjoys treating the "whole" patient and the everyday athlete from elite competitors to the weekend warrior. His key areas of expertise include: non-surgical musculoskeletal care, fracture management, ultrasound-guided joint injections, experience with PRP/stem cells, concussion management, stress test interpretation, compartment testing, dry-needling with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and fluoroscopic epidural injections.

Dr. Garcia currently serves as a member of the Texas A&M Athletics Medical Staff. He is the Head Team Physician for Navasota High School where he played an integral role as lead provider for the 2014 Navasota Rattlers State Championship Team. Dr. Garcia is also the Medical Director for the Adidas 7v7 State Championship Tournament held annually in College Station, TX. In addition, he volunteers for various sporting events in the BCS area such as the BCS Marathon and local 5k's.

Dr. Garcia is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Garcia enjoys spending time playing recreational sports, fishing, and attending collegiate/professional sporting events. He and his wonderful wife, Erica, were married in 2011, and look forward to raising their family within the BCS community.
